The Iranian government reported a few hours to detect a virus, called Stars, directed against his country, in particular, against its institutions. If confirmed by other sources, Stars became the second virus designed specifically against that country.

In the words of Gholamreza Jalali, commander of Iran's civil defense:

Fortunately, our young scholars have been able to find this virus, which is now in the laboratory to carry out further investigations.

The particular characteristics of Stars have been discovered [...] The virus lives in harmony with the computer and the initial cause minor damage, could be confused with some files executives of governmental organizations.

No one knows more about the sophistication, origin and scope of Stars. Apparently has not caused major damage so far. Nor is there any definitive conclusions by Iranian researchers, they say.

Moreover, Jalali has no problem in saying that his country is in the midst of a cyber war initiated by U.S.. UU. and Israel, which on other occasions, senior U.S. officials have categorically denied. Obvious.

Cyberwar or not, Stuxnet is a virus capable of infiltrating industrial and nuclear complex that would be inconceivable without the support of state power. The arrival of Stars to the media gateway is just the tip of an iceberg that is moving in the deep sea of the Internet. Do not know what's underneath, but it is certain that if WikiLeaks leaks or similar institution not revealed, we know little about it.

I think we'll hear more and more stories like this in the coming months, stories where computer viruses are the new weapons of war.
