Miguel Ángel Criado sent me an e-mail question for an article that appeared yesterday in Public, entitled " China Internet full of clones . " Then, the full text of question and answer:

Q. Do you think that the phenomenon of Chinese clones may resemble that of the Japanese electronics industry, which began copying American products to stop innovating?

A. China is clear that is moving from a model of type "Made in China", in which the contributors were mainly lower unit labor costs, a model of type "Engineered in China", in developing learning phases of real added value. Some companies have made great strides in that cycle and have become its own technological development model, and a cycle of migration hipercualificada funded by the State or by private companies and consortia that send students to return home after several years after being formed universities and companies in the United States, Germany and other environments considered exemplary. In the online world, the basis of Chinese students in American universities of engineering is so high that the ability of the Chinese environment has taken to recreate from a technical point of view a model they have seen in any other environment is extremely high, with advantage that domestic demand numbers work so well, it's much easier to get these projects underway, especially if you know the environment (and also, while staying in that environment, as it flies "under the radar" : only a few companies with operations in China beyond the outside. In this sense, is what many academics say: a question of comparative advantage developed by scale.
