We demanded that Sony spoke and so it proved. A few hours ago the company had no choice but to acknowledge the theft of personal information that they decided to suspend the PlayStation Network a week ago. Do not believe that bank information is among the stolen, although it is clear that such a statement is only minimize what is from not only a nuisance but a serious problem that affect all accounts.

77 million users is now officially worried that some hacker, those who call themselves liberators, decides to use the data in question for their own benefit. All hope, therefore, that the attack was a mere show of power without consequences. How can a giant like Sony has come to this? Concerned to read press releases like the one posted on his official website:

Dear customer of PlayStation Network / Qriocity:

We have found that between April 17 and April 19, 2011, certain information from PlayStation Network and commitment Qriocity was put into in connection with an unauthorized trespass on our system. As a result, the measures we have taken so far are:

1) Temporarily closed services PlayStation Network and Qriocity.

2) Since contact with a foreign security agency prestige to conduct a thorough investigation of what happened, and

3) Quickly take the necessary steps to strengthen our network infrastructure, and rebuild the system by offering greater protection of your personal information.

We really appreciate and thank you for your patience, and we are working hard and doing everything necessary to solve this problem quickly and efficiently as soon as possible.

Among the stolen data include names and addresses (physical and email addresses) date of birth and user names and passwords and Qriocity PlayStation Network. The greatest concern is obviously that the credit card numbers associated with these accounts also are in the hands of those responsible.

Patrick Seybold, Director of Corporate Communications at Sony Computer Entertainment of America, has held for more unrest:

Although there is evidence that credit card numbers have been stolen, we can not rule out that possibility.

In other words: yes, they have stolen. Why else would Sony to drop such a thing knowing the damage it will cause media?

"Recommendations? Seybold asked to be alert our bank accounts often and you change the password for PSN if they used it in some other service such as email clients.

Since then we do not care PSN again in a week, as now promised, but to get up every morning someone has polished our card funds.

We also learned that although Sony identified the security breach just a week ago, it was not until yesterday when they met their scope. Why wait several hours to report the theft of information? Seybold said that because of the forensic analysis needed to clarify the intrusion, which is earned fierce criticism not only from the media and users. Classes policies around the globe denouncing the dismal performance of Sony in this regard.

A hypothetical conversation between hackers gathered by VG247 also describes the terrible encryption of data, coming both to ensure that they had never entered the number of credit card platform in such nonsense.

Who do we blame now? "Sony for its weak security system or hackers that have proved? Perhaps the first ... as long as the latter demonstrate their morality. While responsibilities are purged remember: change passwords, watch your bank statement and cancel your cards if you notice any suspicious charges.
