Each ritual comes six months after the departure linuxero a new version of which is undoubtedly the most popular Linux distro. Already available for download (also for 64-bit ) Ubuntu 4.11 Natty Narwhal a new version that brings the main novelty of a change in the desktop environment incorporating Unity at the expense of well-known, popular and well loved by all Gnome . There is no need to take a look at the picture to realize that change has been profound, absolutely refreshing and may not awaken the sympathies of the most conservative users of the system.

The truth and the truth is that the inclusion of Unity, certainly a historic moment for Ubuntu, comes accompanied by many questions and not without some controversy both by its makers as part of some users. As I write these lines has finally finished downloaded and installed the new version on an old laptop which I use Linux and after trying the new changes slightly I have to confess that at least I am personally delighted, at last a clear interface, simple visual very attractive and a pleasure to browse the folders and open / launch applications from the new launcher.

Those who cast ye ye more classic and less to Gnome, which is also a great desktop environment and that such a good companion on the journey has been all these years without any problems can be selected from the login screen. One of the main drawbacks, apart from presenting few customization options for my taste (eg icons can only be displayed on the left) is calling for hardware acceleration, which can give some problems on older computers. As We Win, a lot is on appearance, originality and visual impact of the system, not to forget that it is always an important part in attracting the new users.

Besides a long list of minor improvements but no less important in stability and performance in various arrangements, such as changing the default player Banshee Rythmbox that make this new version of Ubuntu can look at other operating systems without any complex. Switching to Unity is risky, no doubt I hope that users will know to appreciate and exploit without too much trouble all the potential Does anyone have already tried? What do you think?
