A week and a half later, it seems that Playstation Network and finally Qriocity again this week, at least on a limited basis. This was confirmed by Sony in an extensive press conference during which (finally) have explained in great detail the attack, when it occurred, what was its nature, why it took so wrong decisions when communicating ...

The very Kazuo Hirai, chief executive of Sony Computer Entertainment Interactive media appeared before the crowd yet again to offer the "deepest apologies" for having committed the customer data.

Management revealed that the attack that blew up was "highly sophisticated", to the extent that the very FBI is investigating after finding those responsible. The server was hacked in the middle of services that AT & T is in San Diego, California. Sony was not aware of the intrusion until sometime between 17 and 19 April (not reassure the new precision) proceeded to disconnect service on the 20th, when they hired an expert in computer security firm to examine the problem.

The experts behind the research determined that it was a "highly sophisticated attack at the hands of someone highly skilled in security systems" that knew how to cover his tracks skillfully. With this first report on the table, Sony decided to hire two more companies, most recently on March 24. It would take another two days until the Japanese giant decided to inform consumers of possible compromise of their data, finding that they could not deny in any way.

Sony has also confirmed that only 10 million accounts have been notified because the 77 million reported by many media including a large number of these duplicate data to which one serious question: 67 million accounts are mere copies are inactive or have not made any purchase? Curious that the company had no qualms in promoting it as fattened figure to boast when the success of PSN.

What Sony is doing now? As a preventive measure is moving its data center to a highly secret location, known to increase physical security and virtual. In addition, as previously reported, a patch request all users to change their passwords, which can only be done from the PS3 to turn or via mail.

On requiring the cancellation costs and opening new bank cards, Sony considered the option of covering them if those affected are so inclined. Already advised us that yes, we will want, so let's consider and begin planning the process.

Compensation and confirmed that all users have access after the reactivation of the network will be a pack of free content from PSN and a month subscription to Playstation Plus paid service that offers access to exclusive content and discounts given trivial users. Service which, incidentally, did not quite convince many players. They now say they do not find attractive or even remain free in perpetuity.

- Are you going to make Sony cuts? "Many ask. The answer is yes, with that and a free game, much like what Microsoft hiciese and after a weekend of Xbox Live instability.

Sony concluded his speech acknowledged that they had been attacked by Anonymous , but not related to the problem and promised to cooperate actively with the authorities for this kind of misfortune not tarnish the image of online platforms. Will they create a foundation or similar? At least it would take some advantage of these dreadful situation because it is by no user.
