LinkedIn is one of the most underrated social networks of time and at the same time is of the few that can grant you a real benefit in a few months. I always thought that the main problem with LinkedIn is conceptual, we come to it expecting a Twitter or Facebook, and in some cases we need to help get our next job, once we have no work. And this does not work like professional network. For personal and professional success with LinkedIn you have to work harder than other social networks, there is no instant gratification, easy followers, or given away likes.

This network has a significant growth in our countries, and every day I hear more stories of people who have gotten a better job through LinkedIn. It is a matter of little time to finish exploding in popularity, like other social networks. On the other hand, there are elements that make it useful but not seeking work. Works so you have a Curriculum Vitae, and groups of this network are true mine of information.

The following 5 tips to help you better use the LinkedIn professional network and get the job of your dreams:

  1. Complete your profile to 100%. One of the main mistakes people make is to leave your completed profile. If your data are insufficient potential to achieve something much lower LinkedIn. It may even be counterproductive, people and companies that find you will not have a complete picture of your professional skills, immediately think you're not qualified for the job.

  2. Join several groups. This is the secret of success in LinkedIn, to join and participate in groups have a greater chance to be found by prospective employers. At the same time you will be building relationships with other professionals in your area of expertise. Learn new things and help other people. When using LinkedIn groups begin to occur many interesting things for you.

  3. If you have a company or are you basing one, it creates the profile within the network. It is almost automatic when you put you're founding a company, and people can go see the main data LinkedIn, your mailbox begins to fill with questions of your contacts. Are there jobs available?, What is the purpose of the company?, What services and products have?, Etc. It is an excellent way to promote a new venture.

  4. Put a photo professional, not a simple avatar. Try placing a photo to represent yourself professionally. Not in Facebook conquering girls, or in a relaxed and in Twitter. Although many times it is best to have the same avatar on all social networks, think a little more time to put a photo on LinkedIn.

  5. Calls to colleagues and friends recommendations. A lot of people and companies you love to read what others have to say about you. A good recommendation, created with passion and honesty can be the gateway for a new job opportunity. Do not be afraid to ask for recommendations, and be gentle when you ask for them.

If you have a success story in LinkedIn, or a recommendation itself, the comments are open for this post. I'd love to hear your story.
